Oct 01, 1994 · INTRODUCTION The Mozambique Belt in eastern Zambia (Fig. 1) is part of the Malawi Province, which forms a triangular area bounded by the rift zones of the Luangwa and Zambezi valleys as well as Lake Malawi. It is adjacent to the Irumide fold belt in the northwest and it merges with the mainly EW trending Zambezi Belt to the south.
